So today I woke up with what I believe to be bronchitis...dun dun dunnnn!! Haha. :) Even though I didn't feel to well I still had to go to work...you know how it is. My job today was about an hour away from my hous, and afterward we went to the common market nearby and let me just say...that place is AWESOME! My family and I are very health conscious, my parents are body builders (workin on that pro card!) We watch all the food that we put into our mouths! The reason I mention this is because the common market is a grocery store that is local and organic! ...and even better...it's quite cheap considering the product you get! (Anyone who knows me knows how cheap I am!) They have all their spices, teas, baking agents, and etc out so that you can put it in your own bag/container and weigh it yourself! They have a really nice cheese section (I love my cheese) and they even have an olive bar! So I actually took a picture of what my mom and I bought today, not too much just some stuff that we found.
So this is what we bought today.
On the left is a bag of sesame sticks, we had more but Ma and I ate a lot, haha :) We bought a pretty decent amount for 83 cents!
The next one Old Indian Wild Cherry Bark Syrup...let me just tell you...I bought this to clear up my "bronchial passageways" ...I took a swig of it in the car and YUCK! This stuff is disgusting...it DOES work, but you have to take it every 2 hours! My mom was laughing her head off when I tried this because my face was priceless! I made her try it..and we agreed that it tastes like black licorice and pepper. BLAH! It made me nauseous and it made my stomach upset, but I hadn't ate for a couple hours. I could have just gotten regular medicine, I know, but I don't like to take medicine because it just freaks me out. I don't know what's in that crap, at least with the herbal stuff its like oils and what not. But anyways, this was $9.59. Which seems expensive, but it does work! I think it more scares the phlegm out of you!
The hot chocolate! I LOVE hot chocolate, but I have a very sensitive stomach when it comes to chocolate in general. I think that I am slightly lactose intolerant and heavy creams really upset my stomach. I have not tried this yet but I can't wait to! (I'm waiting for my boyfriend to come over tonight to try it together) I really liked how this hot chocolate looked because all the stuff in it are things that I know and not some really long ingredient that I have no idea what the heck is. The ingredient label reads as follows.." Non-fat dry milk, natural cane sugar, dutched cocoa, cream powder, vanilla powder, and brown sugar." It loos like it tastes awesome AND there is a cute cow on the front of the glass bottle and on the tag :) I bought this for $5.99! IT will last awhile too because you only need 2 teaspoons in warm milk :)
Next in line! Extra Aged Cheddar Cheese. I know it seems so random in this line-up but I loveeeee cheese. Every time I go to the grocery store I have to go to the cheese aisle. If anyone shops for "specialty" cheese, you know that they can be really expensive. This block of cheese was $4.05! It's a pretty thick block of cheese too! I've gotten less cheese than this at the normal grocery store for like 8 dollars! There was also a big huge thing of semi-soft swiss cheese there for $5!
And lastly! Kombucha Groovy Grape Tea....this stuff is GROSS! It was $2.99 and my mom and I debated on whether or not to buy this or another drink for like five mins...I wish we would have bought the other one! This tastes like alka seltzer water with vinegar, even though my mom doesn't think so haha. It smells like vinegar as well. In no way does it taste like grape. DO NOT BUY THIS! Blah!
Once we got back into our area we went to Panera Bread, got my Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup with bread! We were in the parking lot leaving, and my mother's door wouldn't shut. We stood there for like 10 minutes trying to fix this door in the freezing cold and we ended up messing the other door up as well. Called my dad up and he was like oh that's easy to fix, and we fixed it in like two seconds. Oh our interesting life. Hahaha.
