Something that's really bothering me...

Alright guys...this is going to be a very opinionated post so if you are offended easily, don't read this.
I was looking through Allure tonight, the new December 2012 issue...the first thing I seen...
Kiera Knightly....girl...Put some clothes on! Now I love Kiera Knightly...I think she's gorgeous, but I do not think that this should be on a cover of a magazine. Why can't magazines make girls look classy instead of like they're total whores? I know what you're thinking...it's their decision to take the pictures and I shouldn't be judging them and what not...but come on guys. Think about it...This is a disgrace to women...You can not tell me that if your boyfriend/husband were looking at a rack of magazines and you seen this you would automatically think this is the first thing that he is looking at...cause face it..she's beautiful!
Alright so you're like...this is one picture...no! It's not! Quite frankly I am slightly desensitized to pictures like this and when I first seen it it didn't phase me too much until I crossed this picture later on in the magazine...
What on earth! In what world is this attractive? This woman is drop dead gorgeous and this best pose you can think of for her is to sit on the toilet! Come on people! You know, I'm not like a complete crazy person about "modesty"....like if she were wearing the corset and like actual pants that would be awesome! Cleavage is not the problem...it's actual boob exposure and just inappropriate pictures.
So I decided to look up a couple more pictures from this year from magazines...
What are these things trying to promote? For one...Emma Stone has a very pretty face...but she needs to eat something, look at her poor stomach! She doesn't even fill out the top that she's wearing! Maybe it's photoshopped or something but either way, have some respect for yourself.
Then Rihanna...another beauty.. just because you photoshop a nipple out does NOT mean that it is okay to show the picture in normal magazines. She's not even wearing pants! Yes once again, I know this was their decision to take the pictures and to have them featured in these magazines... but for real...there are sooooo many other ways to take pictures that look classy and beautiful WITHOUT revealing all them goods.
I don't want you guys thinking I'm trying to bash these women...cause I most definitely am not. This day and age...people are so used to it that they see it and it's just another picture... but when I see it I think of how far the image of "classy" has faded..
Just think about it women...and even men...when you go out, the way you dress is the way you present your values and morals. Just think about it, I know that when I have children I do not want them seeing magazines with pictures as such on the covers while we're just walking in the grocery store. I want my children to have respect for themselves and to learn that you can beautiful without having to expose your whole being.
Once again.. I am not bashing these people specifically, this is just my opinion and if yours is different then I respect it and I ask you to respect mine as well.
Thanks for reading!

  1. Umm.. from a guys point of view, I am not really attracted to any of these pics... Keira has had many better poses in the past and looks so much better dressed as a pirate!

I can why they picked the Emma pic, her eyes are amazing in it... but the pose itself leaves much to be desired... It just seems that the industry needs some better editors if they are gonna try and attract the female readers they want... Guys don't read Vogue or Allure... and Rihanna does nothing for me at all to make me even want to pick up GQ...
