The best and worst movies I've seen in 2012

Good evening all of my blog friends!
I was looking around the internet and found a bunch of articles relating to the best and worst movies of 2012, a lot of which I did not agree with...so I figured I would make my own and you guys can give your own opinions on them as well :) These are going to be movies I watched this year...not just ones that came out this year. I watch a lot of older movies, I can't afford to go to the movies every weekend...unfortunately. These are in no order as well...Enjoy!

Total Recall:
Pretty much every article that I have read about bad movies of last year included this movie...and I don't know why! I really enjoyed this movie. I never seen the original so I don't know if that would change my mind to this one or not...but I like this one! I thought the acting was good and the storyline was interesting. It was very mind boggling in parts as well and the whole time the movie had me guessing what was going on. My boyfriend and my cousin both liked the movie too so I know it's not just me...even though my cousin is in love with Colin Farrell.

Braveheart:

I know this is quite an old movie, but I just watched it this year for the first time and I had to write about it. This movie is fantastic! It's a little on the long side, but it doesn't even matter because the story is so great! Mel Gibson did wonderful acting and I cried my eyes out at the end of the move...which really isn't anything new lol. I was hesitant to watch it at first because I thought it was going to be boring, but Josh told me I had to watch it...and I'm going to tell you the same thing! If you have not seen it...watch it! I literally thought about this movie for days after i watched it...it's one of those movies that sticks in your mind...it really is fantastic.

Haywire:
Josh and I argue about this movie every time it's brought up...I thought it was dreadfully boring...and he absolutely loved it. It wasn't a terrible movie...but there was no music or anything so it was like TOO realistic . I don't even mind that there wasn't any music..I just feel like something was lacking, I really can't explain it. The only thing good about the movie was the fighting because the girl who is the main character is an actual like mma fighter or something. If you're into all that then yeah go see the movie...but if you're looking for a storyline don't waste your time...that's all I have to say about that.

Underworld 4 Awakening:
Josh and I went to see this movie and we thought it was pretty good! I really like these movies and I think that they are put together very well. Unfortunately I don't remember everything from it because I only seen it once in the beginning of the year...but if you're into the underworld movies I would definitely see it. I never really like when movies introduce like daughters and sons of main characters into movies, but they pulled it off in this movie. Of course the story line in this movie was good...I think they're good in pretty much all of them.

The Grey:
This movie is FANTASTIC! Josh and I went to see it the theater and the plane crash in the beginning of the movie was so intense that I almost had to leave. The movie is incredibly realistic and very very intense. Of course Liam Neeson is just awesome to begin with so that's already a good sign of the movie. The only think about this movie that I didn't like was the ending. He walks into the wolf den and the lead wolf and him are about to fight and it shows his face and fades out...I really wanted to see him fight the stupid wolf lol. I definitely recommend this movie.

GoVow:
Quite frankly...this movie sucked. Both of the actors are great actors (especially Rachel McAdams) and it had nothing to do with them...it was just the story in general. You didn't connect with the characters at all and it was just a very disappointing. I should have guessed it wouldn't have been to good after Dear John though...that movie made me angry and we're not even gonna go there. I was expecting like maybe another Notebook or something at least remotely close to that...and it's just..no. Don't waste your time on this movie...or Dear John.

Ghost Rider 2:
This movie sucks so bad. I was so disappointed by this movie because I actually really liked the first one a lot. They tried to make it cooler by "updating" the graphics and doing all that shaky camera crap and it just ruined the movie. They took the best of the movie and put it into the trailer and the rest of the movie just did not live up to it. It's not like the storyline was too terrible or even the acting (can't expect much from Nicholas Cage)...cinematography was just crap. Do not watch this movie...please just save your eyes from it.

Chernobyl Diaries:
This movie is awful. I should have known from the actors too....none of them were known except for Jesse McCartney....Jesse McCartney! Come on now. I was REALLY expecting a good movie with like radiation poisoned people walking around attacking and what not, but no...instead there was a bear that just popped out of no where in the apartment hallway...what the heck? You didn't even see any radiation poisoned people till more than halfway through the movie. It was terrible...and all the characters are so stupid...the whole entire movie makes you just want to shake your head. Terrible...absolutely terrible.

The Lorax:
I really wanted to like this movie....I got ten minutes into it and I wanted to turn it off, but I was over my boyfriend's house so I watched it anyways. This was my favorite Dr. Seuss story when I was younger...still is. The voice of the Lorax just didn't fit in my opinion...and Zac Efron was the little teenie bopper kid and I just couldn't take it seriously...and as if couldn't get any worse...Taylor Swift was the girl Zac Efron's character was head over heels for. "I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues!" The trees say don't watch this movie.

John Carter:
I don't know what everyones beef was about this movie..but Josh and I loved it. I definitely wouldn't compare it to Star Wars like how they were trying to, but it was great in it's own right. I thought the story was great and even the effects were pretty good. I didn't want to watch it at first because of all the negative reviews it was getting, but I really really enjoyed it. I would really recommend you watch it and judge it for your own. It definitely is a Sci-Fi movie all the way ...so if you're not into that I would say just skip this one.

21 Jump Street:
This movie is hilarious! I watched it multiple times and I almost never do that unless I really really like a movie. I laugh so hard every time I watch it..like I am literally in tears when I watch it. On the down side it is quite foul...but if you don't mind that I HIGHLY recommend this movie....oh and the cameos in the end of the movie are great :)

The Hunger Games:
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I was not expecting to enjoy it whatsoever, but I really did. I probably wouldn't watch it again, but it's worth a one time viewing. The acting isn't like fantastic or anything, but the story is pretty intriguing. I didn't read the book..I don't read period...so I can't compare it to the movie or anything, but if I'm just going off of the movie I'd say it a pretty good movie. :)

Wrath of the Titans:
Nobody likes these movies...but I really enjoy them. The actors are really good and I think Liam Neeson makes an awesome Zeus. As all of you know, I'm really into Greek Mythology so that's probably part of why I like it so much. I really liked the first one as well and I would recommend that you watch both of them.

Three Stooges:
I really did not like this movie at all....but Josh loved it. It was almost torture for me to sit there through the whole thing..and to listen to Sophia Vergera's annoying accent the whole movie. This movie was beyond stupid and I did not find it funny whatsoever. Awful movie...don't watch it.

Safe:
Jason Statham movie....of course it's awesome...no review needed.

Avengers:
Oh this movie...I liked it...but..I didn't like it. It took WAY too long to get into the "action" of the movie...if they cut the movie in half it would have been so much better. I had to sit through it twice in the movie theater too...haha. Also...what's the purpose of Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johanson? Their characters are pointless..there's nothing "special" about them. The only reason they used Scarlett Johanson was because she's pretty and she has nice boobs. "Let me stun you with my beauty!" and Jeremy Renner...was an archer? What if he ran out of arrows? What then? AND!! I was watching something the other day on youtube and they talk on headsets like nonstop through the movie...but NONE of them have headsets on their head. The best part of the movie is the Hulk...and when he throws Loki around. I made this movie sound a lot worse than it really is...go see it and let me know what you think. Lol.

Dark Shadows:
I was so expecting this to be funnier then it was... this movie was absolutely horrible. I really like Johnny Depp too and not even his performance could save the movie. The story line is okay, but the movie is just ...ugh. It's terrible. It has a lot of pointless details and details that aren't explained so you have no idea what's going on. The one blonde daughter is a werewolf? and she turns into a werewolf towards the end of the movie in order to fight and she gets thrown into the wall within seconds..and than you don't see her again till the end of the movie...it's just pointless. This movie really is a waste of time... unfortunately.

Battleship:
This is another movie that everyone hated, but I really liked. I think the graphics are really awesome in it..even though I will admit it does look  A LOT like Transformers. The acting is pretty good in it and the story line is pretty interesting. I also really like that they bring the veterans in at the end of the move... I thought that it was quite touching and adorable. Lol. I would recommend that you watch it...regardless of the negative reviews.

Men in Black 3:
All the Men in Black movies are good so it's no surprise this one is too. Josh Brosnan did a fantastic job acting like K...you almost believed it really was him when he was younger. I also really liked how at the end of this movie it tied in all three movies by showing why K chose Will Smith. It's a good movie and you should watch it...especially if you've seen the other ones. :)

Snow White and the Huntsmen:
This is another movie that really surprised me. I don't really care for Kristen Stewart too much, but I feel like she did well in this movie..especially her monologue towards the end after she "wakes up" from her death....it actually made me tear up haha. Charlize Theron was really great for her part as well..she plays off the creepy queen very well. Don't hesitate because of Kristen Stewart...which I'm sure you were lol.

Prometheus:
This movie...I don't even know where to begin with this. I was expecting SO much more from this movie...there were not enough aliens attacking people...nothing made sense...you could barely tie any details together to form a story. Too many details that didn't lead to anything and just a bunch of stupid characters. And one thing that always bothers me every time I think of this movie...Charlize Theron could have lived if she would have ran to the side instead of forward like a stupid idiot. The only good thing about this movie is the graphics.

Abraham Lincoln:
I honestly love this movie...lol. Everyone said that it was bad, but I really really enjoyed it. I liked the storyline..I liked the graphics... Abraham Lincoln was an awesome president and him as a vampire hunter just makes him more awesome. You need an open mind when you watch this movie...because a lot of people say it's stupid... but I think it's clever...and great! :)

Brave:
Disney makes awesome movies...and this movie reflects that. I wrote about this movie in earlier blogs, but I'll just summarize. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was a pleasant surprise. I love all the names, the accents, and the animation. It's all wonderful.

Ted:
This movie was okay. It's quite foul but it was funny. I'm not a big Mark Wahlberg fan, but I am a big fan of Seth Macfalane. There were a couple funny parts in the movie, but it wasn't like the funniest thing I've ever seen. I was surprised that there was a touching part at the end of the movie..and of course..it made me cry. Haha.

The Amazing Spider-man:
I liked this movie better than the original one. I had a hard time accepting Andrew Garfield as Spider-man just because I grew up with Toby McGuire as Spider-man...but I think Andrew Garfield made a good spider-man. I'm not a big fan of Emma Stone, but I guess she did okay. The villain was cool...wasn't like anything too original or what not. The graphics were a lot better than the originals. A lot of people say that they wouldn't mind the movie so much if it didn't follow so much of the original...and I kind of agree with that. It's not exactly the same thing, but it's pretty darn close. If you like Spider-man, definitely watch it.

Batman 3 : Dark Knight Rises:
Quite honestly...the Batman movies aren't really my favorite. I think that they're too long and drawn out and that they could tell the whole story they were trying to tell within half of the duration of the movie. I felt with this movie that they just had too many people in it...I got confused what was going on. Catwoman should not have been in this movie and if they were going to put her in there they should have gave her more of a back story...she just kind of popped out of no where and her and Batman were in love. The one girl that lies to Batman was just random. Bane was awesome..Tom Hardy did a really good job with him., but I feel like they "un-maned" him towards the end by showing him being vulnerable. And I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but he just annoyed me in this movie. I don't really understand how Batman lived at the end either..I really think that after the explosion happened they should have showed exactly how he survived in a little clip. Also the underground jail...I don't understand. This movie just didn't make sense to me. There's so much more to say about this movie but I'm sure you've already seen it...what's your opinion?

The Campaign:
This movie was funny.. but it was very strange. I liked it, but I know a lot of people didn't. It's definitely stupid humor..and believe it or not I cried at the end. Haha.

The Expendables 2:
This movie is just awesome. It's better than the first one for sure. A bunch of killing from a bunch of really awesome actors. You can't go wrong with a movie like this. It even had somewhat of a storyline, hahah. Go see it :)

Looper:
This movie is fantastic. I highly recommend that you go see this movie. It's intense, it has great actors, the story is awesome, and the ending is unexpected. I thought Emily Blunt was an okay actor, but I do kind of feel that they could have picked someone else. See it! Everyone I seen it with loved it...and we still talk about it to this day. This has to be one of my favorite movies of 2012. :)

I hope you enjoyed...I was gonna do more, but there's so many movies I watch it would take forever to do that.
Thank you for reading! :)
