Alright guys! I am far enough into Hitman to finally do a review on it!
Now I've played some of the older Hitman games like years ago, so I can't really compare them to the new one just because I don't remember like anything from them.
BUT! What I can tell you is this game is really awesome! Especially if you like really thought provoking games. This is NOT a game that you can just run around and shoot people in, you literally have to think about every step that you take and who you kill and where you put them and where you hide...so on and so forth.
One thing that kinda confuses me about the game is the controls, but that's mostly because they're not like any of the other controls on any other game I play. I'm used to like modern warfare controls and what not. You can do like a multiple shoot in this game and you have to hit (on PS3) R1 then square then to aim you push L1 and then to mark your target you push R2....so yeah...that's a lot to do right there! Hahah. My brain always gets confused and then you have to be really fast because your instinct runs out. (Instinct is pretty much like eagle vision in Assassin's Creed, but the one in Hitman shows you a lot more detail.) There is also like the "weapon wheel" kind of like in Assassin's Creed as well but only with 4 rows instead of it being like a full out wheel. (You use the D-pad to access this.) The crouch button is R3 and because I'm used to modern warfare controls I always push like square or whatever it is lol. But yeah, the controls aren't really too hard once you get the hang of it.
The graphics are pretty good in this game as well. It's not like unmistakable for real life or anything, but they're good for a video game. There are some glitches, like when 47 is eating an apple and it doesn't look like he's biting into it at all, but a piece disappears. Lol...but it's nothing big. The storyline in this game is also really interesting as well, and yes I have gotten to the slutty nuns lol.. but they didn't do like any background information on them. Someone calls the head nun and she agrees to kill 47 with her little "possy."
This game is really hard as well...even on easy. So I would recommend to start on easy and if that's not enough challenge then it will let you change it when you go back to the menu and reload the game. Like I said above, you REALLY have to think about this game. You have to disguise yourself and use your instinct to hide your face from the guards. If you're in disguise as a guard and your passing guards you pretty much literally have to have your instinct on the whole time (which can get annoying if you're someone who likes to run throughout a video game, like me) if you don't have your instinct on it only takes a few seconds for the guards to recognize you depending on how far away you are from them. You can pretty much touch a guard when you're instinct is on and they won't do anything but say like...hey mind your space... or something stupid lol. You have to use items around you to distract the guards...such as bottles and gas cans...to throw at things and make loud noises and when they investigate you can kill them and steal their clothes. You have to keep your gun hidden pretty much at all times or you look suspicious...I always forget to hide it haha. This game also requires a lot of patience. You have to wait for exactly the right time and the right place to kill someone. Using your instinct shows you the predicted path of the enemies and you sometimes have to wait awhile for it to pop up and show you where they're going, and if you miss it the first time you have to wait forever for the person to get back there.
You can use any object you can pick up to kill someone with. So you can pick up bottles, knives, gas cans, guns, and etc. The kills in this game are pretty cool, but there isn't much variety. You subdue someone from behind or you can choke them with your wire thing or a bottle. If you have a gun or a needle you stab them (obviously) and if you hit them front the front it goes into a slow mo fight and reminds me of the finishing moves in God of War..when you have to push the corresponding button. But you get A LOT more time in this game to hit it then in God of War. (But mind you this is all on easy so it may vary depending on the difficulty level.)
ALSO! I do want to warn you...if you are one who cares about foul language...DO NOT buy this game...this game is FULL of cuss words, and I mean like full of them. Every time it cuts to a cut scene they say the F word like ten times...sometimes more than others, especially if its the main bad guy whose name I can't remember right now lol. Also there is some nudity in this game but really not too much. It's in the beginning when the girl is in the shower and they don't really even show too much of it...when she ends up falling out the shower curtain covers her up. There is a level in which you are in a strip club, but there isn't "full" nudity, they are slightly covered up.
Overall! This is a really awesome game that is definitely meant for "older" eyes..obviously it is rated M because of this. This game makes you slow down and actually think about what you need to do and how you should do it. It's a nice change from other fast paced games that are out, and if you are one to get frustrated easily this may not be the game for you. I get frustrated easily with it, but I enjoy playing it because I feel like it makes me use my brain more. I hope you decide to play this game and if you do let me know what you think of it! I've had a lot of people come into work and say it was really good! I have heard a lot of people say that it is short, but if you don't play it for hours on end for like days it should last you quite some time. Josh and I have been playing it for like 3 or 4 hours a couple a days a week for like 2 or 3 weeks...and we're not even half way done.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy! If you have any other reviews let me know and I'll try to get some up for you!
