Good afternoon lovelies!
This past week I went from an Android phone to an Iphone...and if you know me well, you would know that I was against Iphones for the longest time.
Why change you may ask?...
Because for one my droid was EXTREMELY laggy, the screen would shut off on me randomly..the phone would completely turn off and on..it would take forever to bring up anything on it at all. For two, THEY ARE ALL THE SAME...and I was REALLY bored with them.
I decided to get an Iphone because everything is so different and because Iphones are known to be pretty reliable when it comes to speed and efficiency. I decided on an Iphone 5s instead of the 5c because I really liked the fingerprint sensor on the 5s and I use it ALL the time. I almost never actually input my password unless it asks for it.
I have already noticed a dramatic difference in the usage between the two phones. For the longest time I thought that Iphones were extremely easy to use, but honestly I have been more frustrated with my Iphone than I ever was with my droid phones..which I am not complaining because it's fun to learn how to use it. The 5s is SO much faster in everything...opening apps, making calls, taking pictures, and opening webpages, but the one thing that makes or breaks a phone for me is the camera quality...and the Iphone definitely took the cake for me over all of the other droids I looked at. Although it only has an 8 megapixel camera as opposed to the 13 megapixel cameras on the newer droid phones...I fell in love with the picture quality on the Iphone. The camera does not lag whatsoever and if I want to take a picture it is immediate..there is no wait time like I have experienced on many droid phones. Also in my opinion, the front facing camera on the Iphone 5s is better than droids as well...only with a 1.5 megapixel front facing camera as opposed to a 2 megapixel front facing camera on newer droid models. The video quality is AMAZING on the Iphone 5s and it even takes slow motion videos...I am very impressed with the cameras...if you couldn't tell.
The downfalls that I have noticed about the 5s is customization and personalization...Iphones have one setup for their home screens where droids can have multiple pages with widgets and icons you can choose to put wherever your heart desires (almost). For some people, this would be a big thing...but honestly I don't really care. You can still group everything together and move icons all to one page like on droids and that is enough for me. Another thing that I long time droid user would have a hard time adjusting to is the one button on the phone as opposed to the back button, home button, list button, etc...I have found myself multiple times trying to hit a back button that is not there....haha. The last thing that I have a problem with and probably the biggest one for me is the feel of the phone...it is very small and thin compared to the big and clunky droid phones that I have had for the past couple of years. It feels very fragile, but the longer I have it the more I realize that I don't need to baby it as much as I feel I should (even though I have yet to drop it.) I would just recommend getting a really good case for it because the 5s' are still made from half glass...but I think that the 5c's aren't so you could always go with that if that makes you feel more comfortable. The last thing that is very bothersome to me is the battery life...I have noticed a dramatic decrease in battery life compared to my Droid Razr Maxx....BUT in all fairness, that phone is designed to have a bigger battery that lasted me like a day and a half.
Besides these minor setbacks... I am REALLY enjoying having an Iphone and I could tell from the moment it was in my hands that I made the right decision on switching. If you are on the fence about switching and all I would look online at comparisons and even go into phone stores and playing around with them before you make the commitment on changing. I would NOT listen to other people about their opinions on the Iphone because I have heard a ton of mixed opinions and quite frankly you won't know until you physically touch it and play around with it yourself. As an example...my boyfriend, Josh, is a BIG droid enthusiast and I was trying for a couple weeks to convince him to get an Iphone with me...and he was on the fence about it for quite sometime...(he wanted a Samsung Galaxy Note 3).. until I got one, and he played with it...now that's what he wants. Haha. So as I said....don't judge it before you even give it a chance because I did for years!!...and now I absolutely love this phone.
I hope if any of you guys were wondering about switching to an Iphone that this helped a little bit. It was a very big decision for me as I do not like change, but I am very happy I made the change!
Until next blog...Thank you for reading!
