Iron Man 3 (Obviously Spoilers)

Hello all my fellow blog readers...
I have seen Iron Man 3 twice already and I just have to write about it because frankly...I was quite disappointed. (Even my boyfriend agrees with me.)
First off...I am a big nerd...although I do not read comics, I would love to, I love all the DC and Marvel movies and I do have a general knowledge about the characters and how they should be.
This is one of the main things that bothers me about Iron Man 3. The Mandarin...was NOT the Mandarin. In two aspects...not the Mandarin from the comics, and not even "the Mandarin" in the movie. I didn't read about on any of the characters until after I seen the movie and I had an interest in this man..
being the Mandarin. But halfway through the movie you find out...he's not the Mandarin...he's just an actor. What? No... Just...No. He's an english idiot who they pulled off the streets. Yes...it was funny, I will give them that, but it was SO disappointing. I was really looking forward to him being all badass and what not.
Then my second point on him not being the Mandarin...he isn't the Mandarin from the comics. He is a completely different character all together. I've read articles on why they would even do that and the only reason I found that they came up with was that "Aliens weren't relevant in the Marvel world at the time." Oh that makes perfect sense...NOT. The war machines in Avengers were pretty much aliens...and Thor is a demi-god... need I even say anymore! My thing with comic movies is if you are going to make a movie from a comic book...it needs to follow the comics..AT LEAST with the characters. The Mandarin was a completely different character and they should have just made him a new villain all together if they wanted to change his character that much.
Next, I know that Tony is just a regular guy and all, but come on man...you're IRON MAN...you can't have panic attacks out of no where. You fight bad people...pull yourself together! Also, you're stupid. You tell a villain who's killing everyone around the world, where you live...and then you just leave the door unlocked and have no defense systems put up.
They lost me completely when Guy Pierce started breathing fire.
Why did they put the president in an INDESTRUCTIBLE suit on wires above fire...if the suit is indestructible..it's not going to do anything...at least not right away, leaving enough time for him to crawl out of the fire once he does eventually fall.
I understand that this movie is supposed to be "light-hearted" and more "kid-friendly", but I feel like it wasn't serious enough. It had too much comic relief. I like funny stuff, but I feel like they should have made it a little more serious.
There wasn't enough action. Period.
He was barely even in the suit.
The suit flew Tony to Tennessee? I thought it was smart, couldn't it have just taken him to somewhere safe in at least the same state?
Why would he wear a prototype around the house after telling the Mandarin where he lives?
I know I'm bashing this quite hard...but some of it was okay. Like......
...
Well...the part when Tony's house gets attacked was the best part in my opinion. The graphics were great. The fight between Tony and the guards after Tony gets out of the bed was pretty cool. And I thought the ending part where Pepper becomes all badass and turns into "She Woman" is pretty awesome. My only complaint about that part is that they shouldn't have shown her earlier being injected with the stuff because when she falls off the building I knew she wasn't dead.
Everyone said that Iron Man 2 was awful, but quite frankly I felt like that one was A LOT better. A lot more action...some of the parts are a little "corny", but over all I enjoyed that movie much much more.
Tell me what all of you guys thought!
Thanks for reading! :)
